Memory returns.
The darkness is unbroken.
Time passes.
Terms and conditions apply.
The tapestry unravels.

You are one of the most layered,
complex,
interesting,
and uncomfortably brilliant individuals I've had the pleasure of knowing.
Keep pushing those boundaries.

A hand reaches for a light switch.
The dawn chorus declares itself against interpretation.
A pause.
There is no reflection in the mirror and continuity will not protect us.
The station is empty.

"The untold story behind the legend" is waiting at the bus stop.
A helicopter hovers over us.
The cupboard is almost bare.
We argue.
It begins to rain.

One of my earliest memories is rescuing greenflies from spider webs on our garden gate and allowing them to recuperate inside the large empty cardboard packaging that my mum's catalogue clothing arrived in.
I suppose the worst thing anyone has said to me is "I don't love you" or "I don't fancy you".
If I could edit my past I'd want to erase all the time and effort that I put into continuing to chase after those people who just weren't that into me.
If my mum were still alive I'd want to apologise for all the times I never made any real effort on her birthdays; and if my dad were still alive I'd want to apologise for not taking time to really get to know him (though I WAS only a child when he died).
If I could travel back in time I'd want to experience up close and first hand the radical politics of the early 1970s.

Assume that whoever we're conversing with is intelligent.
As often as possible make an effort to see the everyday world with new eyes.
Try to think of arguments, debates and discussions as being collaborative, rather than combative.
There is no such thing as them and us; try to minimise reliance on the word "they", especially when referencing some nebulous stereotypical "enemy".
Love is the Law and from this one Law all else falls into place.
